Stop Right Now, Thank You Very Much

“The name of the game is speed,” Lodi would always say…

… right in the middle of stopping us in the middle of the task because he saw something he doesn’t recognize on our screens.

“We have to stop having verbal discussions and let the file do the talking,” is another favorite of his…

… but all throughout the day, all throughout the week, he would always call for face-to-face verbal discussions with the file open, even when every single step of the task is already entered into the file, evey single step which he has previously approved.

“Stop everything you’re doing and give me an update in no more than 5 minutes,” or 2 minutes, or 10 minutes. Delaying us from continuing our tasks, when he could just open the rolling update file and find out what the latest update is.

Trivia

Here’s a funny trivia:

He requires us all to have each minute of the day accounted for. He makes us enter it into a file that will show him how many minutes we will be spending on each task.

And he checks this thoroughly under a microscope.

And each and every day, the minutes are not enough to get the job done for the day.

Except when he’s out of the office and we have no contact with him.

During these blissful times of no contact with him, we all run out of things to do for the day — because we are always able to do all our tasks in peace and quiet.
